Back to the sci-fi week!

Ok, so we never left the sci-fi week, but it's time for some time travel! I found it quite hard to come up with things to draw for time travel, but I managed to come up with a few things.

Of course one of the biggest time travel movies is Back to the Future. I already did crazy professors and I can't draw cars very well, so here we have Lucy as Marty McFly from the Back to the Future film series.

To travel through time a time machine might come in handy. So here we have RatCat and the Time Machine.

We'll actually see another iconic character that traveled through time to change the fate of the world, but he's traveled ahead to Sunday.

Until tomorrow! =^o,,o^=

Look out for RatCatzilla!

Whether they are man-made, mutated, or just born that way, science fiction has it's fair share of monsters! Some monsters are created by those mad scientists we saw a few days ago.

One of the most famous monsters in fictional history is of course the monster of Frankenstein! Here we have Evil Space RatCat's minion showing us his version of this misunderstood monster.

Lucy from the black lagoon?

One of sci-fi's biggest monsters is Godzilla! Or in this case, RatCatzilla!

Did you like the monsters? Until tomorrow again! =^o,,o^=

Time for Star Wars

It wouldn't be sci-fi week without Star Wars! (and don't worry the other "Star" of sci-fi will come later this week).

We start of with this ChewRatCatta...  Ratchew-Catbacca...

RatCat as Chewbacca, Let's leave it at that.

Next we have one of the colorful kittens as Obi Wan Kenobi. I think it suits him.

Here, Evil Space RatCat, Yoda as, we have.

Check out Lucy von Fledermaus and Count Slugula as princess Leia and Jabba the Hutt! Slugula had to gain a bit of weight for this...

Finally, we have the Big Fat Friendly Butterfly dressed as a Storm trooper. I think he's pretty awesome.

What did you think of the Ratcathian (new word, add it to your dictionary!) versions of some of the Star Wars characters? Any favs?

Until tomorrow! =^o,,o^=

Mad scientists and crazy professors!

Sci-fi week continues! Scientists who've seem to lost it a little are no strangers in science fiction. Which is a good thing, because crazy scientists make all sorts of crazy things happen. They create monsters, build time machines, and...well some of them just go crazy.

This mad RatCat sure looks like he's on the verge of something insane. He doesn't seem to have any equipment besides that thing with the lever though...so I don't think he'll be able to do too much damage.

Evil Space RatCat may not look too crazy, but I don't think he's completely sane either. I mean...his best friend is a dust bunny that mutated because of something Evilly had conjured up in his lab. That's pretty crazy.

Finally we have Lucy von Fledermaus. I can just hear her laugh "aahaaahahahaaa!". All crazy like. Her hair sure is wild.

That's it for the second sci-fi day here at RatCat and friends. Tomorrow we will feature one of the biggest sci-fi sagas (if not the biggest) ever!

Until then! =^o,o^=

The start of Sci-fi week! Alien invasion.

The first theme week of 2014 has arrived and the theme is Sci-fi! We start with: aliens! We will come across more aliens this week than I will show to you today, but I think these are quite enough to get the sci-fi ball rolling.

We start of with the Big Fat Friendly Butterfly as some random alien. A big part of any stereotypical alien is usually his big weird eyes. The BFFB is also sporting a nice space helmet.

Next we have Count Slugula as an alien with two tails and an antenna.

You probably recognize this RatCat alien as one of the squeeze toy aliens from Toy Story. Although Toy Story isn't necessarily a Sci-fi story, I love the little aliens and really wanted to draw this.
Making an alien out of any character is quite easy really. Just add some tentacles and a space helmet! Unless your character is an octopus or something...then it's just an octopus with a space helmet on. It works for mammoths though!

Finally, when you think alien, don't you also kind of think predator? Of course, predator is an alien so it fits right in with all the other alien weirdness you've already seen. So here, as our final drawing on the first day of sci-fi week, we have Lucy von Fledermaus as predator.

How did you enjoy all the RatCat and friends aliens? Do you have a favorite?

Tomorrow it's time for some crazy geniuses! Until tomorrow! =^o,,o^=

Monthly Mustache Mania! January

Although I missed the first week it was/is my plan to have a mustache Monday on every Monday, excluding theme weeks. of 2013. You might say "but today is Saturday, and the title says monthly, why?". Well, that's because the Mustache Monday happens on the RatCat and Friends facebook and Tumblr only. On this blog I will give you a monthly overview of all the mustaches of that month.

Now, because I missed the first week and next week will be a theme week we've only had 2 Mustache Mondays so far. Here are January's mustaches:

Do you like mustaches? Let me know! Until next time! =^o,,o^=

RatCat High: nerd re-do and the band geek

More from RatCat High! Besides the cheerleader, I also did a RatCat nerd/geek a while ago. I decided to re-do that one as well. Here we have the older version of the RatCat nerd:

Next we have the newer version:

Like the older version he seems a bit unsure of himself, doesn't he?

He seems a lot happier with a pile of books in his hands. The RatCat nerd really has an interest in all sorts of things. Science, chess, dungeons and dragons, and...mlp?

Next to the book nerdy geek (or geeky nerd?) RatCat there is also a whole different type of geek roaming the hallways of RatCat High: the band geek.

He's actually quite proud to be part of the school band. He's totally rocking his band outfit...sort of.
Let's not forget the wonderful music he makes. He really puts his all into it.

How do you like these members of the RatCat High school clan? Let me know in the comments!

Until next time! =^o,,o^=

The faces of RatCat #1

You might not think it when you look at him, but RatCat has a lot of different facial expressions. Here is the first (I've got 4 planned so far) of a series of "the faces of RatCat".

Which one is your favorite?

Until next time! =^o,,o^=

Lucy star signs: Capricorn

Next to the signs of the Chinese Zodiac Lucy will also be portraying the star signs, beginning with the Capricorn. Can someone tell me why the Capricorn has a fishtail though?

Here she is:

"Beeeh"
What's your star sign? Mine is actually the Capricorn!

Until next time! =^o,,o^=

RatCat High: the jock and cheerleader re-do

A pretty long while ago I posted a RatCat cheerleader. I decided to do a quick re-do of that drawing and also show you the jock of RatCat High School.

Here we have the older version of the RatCat cheerleader and below is the updated version.

The newer cheerleader looks a lot "cleaner" or something. Less scruffy looking, lol.

Here we have the jock. A bit simple minded but a friendly fellow. Here he is wearing his casual outfit.

Here he is all suited up for a match (not sure against who...). He seems a bit nervous.

It might be a bit stereotypical to have the cheerleader and the jock on a date, but they do look kinda cute.

How do you like these inhabitants of the RatCat high?

Until next time! =o,,o=

Lucy Chinese Zodiac: the Rat

As you may know the Chinese Zodiac consists of twelve different animals. Here we have Lucy portraying one of them: the Rat.
What do you think of her outfit?

I'll share Lucy as all the different animals of the Chinese Zodiac one by one.

Until next time! =o,,o=

2014!

As you may have noticed 2013 is over and it's time for 2014! Me and RatCat have big plans for this year, but due to moving and changing jobs and stuff I have to delay the 2014 fun by a week or so, but here are a few things I hope to bring to you in 2014:

Mustaches
My goal is to present you with a mustache themed RatCat (or friends) drawing every Monday on RatCat's facebook page and Tumblr (with the exception of the first Monday of this year since all my drawing stuff is in a box somewhere...). I'll re-cap all the mustaches on this blog once a month.

Theme weeks
In a theme week I'll be posting something everyday for a week related to a certain theme. The first theme week for this year will be Sci-fi and it'll be awesome. It'll probably happen in the 3rd or 4th week of January.

Animations
I've already made a few short RatCat and Friends related animations (see a few posts back) and I hope to make more this year. The first things I do will probably be animated versions of drawings or short stories.

Even though I'm already falling behind on my own schedule before I've even begun I hope to bring you a lot of RatCat and Friends drawings and other stuff this year!

Enjoy 2014!
