Dress up time: Fairy Princess Mammoth

It's dress up time here at RatCat & Friends! Everybody's dressing up like the Fairy Princess Mammoth. Some like dressing up more than others do...

RatCat and the Big Fat Friendly Butterfly are always up for a costume party. The basics for the FPM look are a pink tutu, pink wings, and a tiara or crown. The BFFB also got some mammoth tusks.
Minion likes dressing up.

Evil Space RatCat didn't want to wear a tutu, but he made a cool belt buckle. Not sure if he's looking bad-ass or just p*ssed off.
Count Slugula isn't too into this, I think...

Colorful kittens like to dress up. Well, at least some of them do. This chubby one certainly does.

While you might not know it from the look on her face, Lucy actually really enjoys dressing up.

What do you think of  Fairy Princess Mammoth dress up time? Who looks best in it?

Gojira!

Gojira, also known as Godzilla, is Japan's biggest, baddest, most famous, mutated monster. The first movie came out in 1954. Here he was pretty mad because something nuclear the people did woke him up/mutated him, so he decided to mess up some buildings and be a symbolic critique on nuclear testing/weapons. He later became friendlier and evolved into a hero who fought bad monsters. In the 80s Godzilla was re-invented as a bad-ass who hates Tokyo. Most recently, like a few weeks ago, a new American version was released (let's forget the other American version, it doesn't exist) starring the biggest Godzilla yet.

Throughout all of the Gojira movies a lot of other monster played a part. My personal fav is Mothra, who is always on the side of the humans. Sure, Mothra larva sound like a locomotive, look like a male body part, and spray white stuff, Mothra is one kick-ass moth-type monster:

Or maybe not so much kick-ass as drag-you-across-the-floor-ass?

Another famous Godzilla franchise monster is Ghidorah, the three-headed monster:
How many of the 28 (this is not counting the American versions) Gojira movies have you seen?

Crazy pocket monsters

They're cute and annoying at the same time, you can try to catch them all, and there are about a billion of them. I'm talking, of course, about Japans best known monsters: Pokemon. Video-games, trading cards, anime, manga, and merchandise. Pokemon does it all, and here are some of the RatCat and Friends as different Pokemon.

The minion went all out with this Pikachu look.

You might not recognize him straight away because the colors are different and the BFFB is slightly fatter, but he's Butterfree.

RatCat as Mew

Where there is a Mew, there's a Mewtwo (well not really, but here there is though).

On Facebook I posted a "who's that Pokemon" and you may have guessed it was (RatCat as) Mew:

I might do some more Pokemon later in the month, but for now this will have to do.

Until tomorrow! =^o,,o^=

Ninja

Not much to say about Ninjas really. They're fast, secretive, and they like to wear black.

I'm not sure how fast he is, but he does have a sword so...don't mess with him!

The BFFB* is quite happy with his ninja star. He'd never use it to hurt someone though. He probably wouldn't be a great ninja...

Lucy is ready for some silent ninja action.

Until tomorrow! =(^o,,o^)=

Time for Star Wars

It wouldn't be sci-fi week without Star Wars! (and don't worry the other "Star" of sci-fi will come later this week).

We start of with this ChewRatCatta...  Ratchew-Catbacca...

RatCat as Chewbacca, Let's leave it at that.

Next we have one of the colorful kittens as Obi Wan Kenobi. I think it suits him.

Here, Evil Space RatCat, Yoda as, we have.

Check out Lucy von Fledermaus and Count Slugula as princess Leia and Jabba the Hutt! Slugula had to gain a bit of weight for this...

Finally, we have the Big Fat Friendly Butterfly dressed as a Storm trooper. I think he's pretty awesome.

What did you think of the Ratcathian (new word, add it to your dictionary!) versions of some of the Star Wars characters? Any favs?

Until tomorrow! =^o,,o^=

The start of Sci-fi week! Alien invasion.

The first theme week of 2014 has arrived and the theme is Sci-fi! We start with: aliens! We will come across more aliens this week than I will show to you today, but I think these are quite enough to get the sci-fi ball rolling.

We start of with the Big Fat Friendly Butterfly as some random alien. A big part of any stereotypical alien is usually his big weird eyes. The BFFB is also sporting a nice space helmet.

Next we have Count Slugula as an alien with two tails and an antenna.

You probably recognize this RatCat alien as one of the squeeze toy aliens from Toy Story. Although Toy Story isn't necessarily a Sci-fi story, I love the little aliens and really wanted to draw this.
Making an alien out of any character is quite easy really. Just add some tentacles and a space helmet! Unless your character is an octopus or something...then it's just an octopus with a space helmet on. It works for mammoths though!

Finally, when you think alien, don't you also kind of think predator? Of course, predator is an alien so it fits right in with all the other alien weirdness you've already seen. So here, as our final drawing on the first day of sci-fi week, we have Lucy von Fledermaus as predator.

How did you enjoy all the RatCat and friends aliens? Do you have a favorite?

Tomorrow it's time for some crazy geniuses! Until tomorrow! =^o,,o^=

Cool

When I asked my brother what he wanted for his birthday he said: "Something cool from RatCat". This is the result:

Everybody's wearing sunglasses, because that's cool. We have some cool jackets, and of course a jetpack.

What do you think of their coolness? Who is the coolest?

Introducing: Big Fat Friendly Butterfly

This little big guy has been a doodle for too long. Here is the Big Fat Friendly Butterfly a.k.a. the BFFB:

Taking a walk.

Fluttering around.

Taking a nap.
Having a sip of sugar water.
